The last Christmas gift to be opened

The TRAMPOLINE!
I actually bought this on black friday, it was one of those impulse buying situations. I really had no intention of buying a trampoline. Although my big boys have wanted one for years we have been leery of getting one due to the possibility of injuries. But there I was, in the rush of black friday buying frenzy, at the check out and realized that they still had trampoline vouchers. A 14 foot with enclosure for only $148. Oh but wait, it lights up too? Oh, I gotta have it! So I bought it. sigh
And the funniest part is that I told the boys (by accident) as soon as I got home with it. We were staying with Dad for Thanksgiving, so my sister, Lena, and I went shopping Thurs eve. Well, the big boys waited up for us to try to see what we bought. Lena and I were savvy to this, so we were very careful to be sneaky and make sure everything was good and covered so they couldn't get a peek at the loot we had piled in the back of the truck. So after we carefully secured all the gifts out of site from the big kids (mind you this is at like 1:30am! and we were so tired) we walk in the house to a hundred blaring questions from all the big kids about what we bought them. But we didn't give any info up. That is until Adrien asked if I had gotten his lizard any crickets. I said, "no honey I didn't. they didn't have any. and I did ask, I promise. I was waiting in line to pay for your trampoline and I asked an associate to check." doh! The look on his face was priceless. He turned to his brother and asked, "did she just say what I think she said?" LOL
disclaimer: yes, I do realize that I need to secure the bottom of the enclosure to the trampoline. we were running out of daylight on an unusually warm Jan day, so we took advantage of it!

I randomly read your blog, I have some advice for you and your trampoline. If you want to keep it around for along time. (let say 15 years) I would say put it up in the spring and take it down in the fall. This helps the mat( black thing you jump on) from getting so much wear and tear. I have had my trampoline since I was 6 and am now 21. Every year we take it down in the fall and put it up the spring. It takes some time but after one or two time it take 30-40 mins to put together. Our neighbor bought one the same time we did and keep it up all year round and it lasted 5 year. We live in Oklahoma so we have everything from -17 degree weather to 112. Plus when it is that hot or cold the mat is really to hot or cold to jump on. That is my one piece of advice for some one who is getting a new trampoline. O and also turn it over upside down when you think a tornado or windstorm is coming cause once the wind picks them up they fly like a kite.
