Chillaxin

I just found this cute chairs and ottoman set at a thrift store. I had intended to put it in the girls room, but the boy snatched it.
The quad squad have been using straw sippy cups since before they turned one. IDK why, I guess it's just that my twins used straws and it seemed easier, so I started the quads on straws too. I seem to tend to like the straw sippy cups better because they seem to leak less, but I have not found a truly leak proof sippy (that last anyway). Anyway, now that they are getting older I'm starting to think about them learning to drink from an open cup (heaven help us! lol). So I just found these rim sippy cup that is suppose to help the transition to an open cup. The girls figured out pretty quick that they have to tip the cup up to get any milk...
but my lazy boys did not like this concept. They prefer to hold the straw by their teeth and not even have to utilize their hands (which can be used to hold other things or play).
Of course, we will continue using our straw sippy cups, but will practice with the new ones. I've no plans to actually switch to an open cup any time soon.
ahhh, milkshakes are one of the quad squads favorite things

My kids all drank from the straw cups by 12 months. they all could also drink from an open cup to give them sips. T
hey learned very early how to "drink" from an open cup. By 3-6 months even...just drip/swallows of water here and there. Of course not holding their own cup. Just makes it so much easier when it is hot out or they are thirsty to be able to give them a quick sip of lemonade or water that I am drinking as opposed to finding a whole sippy cup of something.

. I hate the valves and all that go into sippy cups. Make sure you have a straw cleaner as they can get mildewy. Thye look like a pipe cleaner...you could use a fat one of those too I bet!
